Send a Virtual CARE Package This March and Receive Special Offer From H&M Canada

[OTTAWA] Homemade cookies, a pair of gloves, your favourite chocolate … most Canadians know what a care package is and enjoy the nostalgic feelings they get when they remember receiving one.
It’s a gift with a proud history of generosity and future of empowerment. And for the month of March, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Canadians who send a virtual CARE Package* at care.ca/sendcarepackage will receive a special offer from H&M Canada.
“Many people may not know of the rich history of the CARE Package. They just know that warm feeling when that special gift arrives in the mail,” says Gillian Barth, president and CEO of CARE Canada. “Thanks to the support of H&M Canada, we wanted to give Canadians a fun opportunity to send their own package and learn more about what today’s CARE Package means for millions of people worldwide.”
Until March 31st, CARE is providing Canadians with the opportunity to share their own virtual CARE Package to friends and family via email or social media. Senders will then receive a coupon for $10 off their purchase of $50 or more at any H&M store in Canada. Valid March 1-31 2016.
Today’s CARE Package: Delivering Lasting Change
CARE was established in 1945 to support families in Europe after the Second World War by sending life-saving CARE Packages to help them survive and get back on their feet. Since then, the CARE Package grew into a symbol of kindness and, eventually, a popular term for thoughtful packages sent to college students or loved ones abroad.
“Seventy years after the first shipment arrived in France, CARE delivers more than the contents of a single box. Today’s CARE Package includes all the ingredients for fighting poverty and social injustice,” says Barth. “We are helping families recover from conflict and disasters. We are finding new ways for women and girls to lift themselves out of poverty.”
This month-long CARE Canada and H&M Canada initiative is being held to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th.
Canadians can send their virtual CARE Package today at care.ca/sendcarepackage or donate at the checkout to support CARE’s work at any H&M Canada store this month.
