CARE Canada statement: CARE Canada Welcomes Alison Evans as Vice President of Public Engagement

OTTAWA, 6 JANUARY 2022 – CARE Canada is delighted to announce the appointment of Alison Evans as Vice President, Public Engagement, effective 31 January 2022.

As a key member of the senior leadership team and in this inaugural role, Alison will oversee CARE Canada’s advocacy, communications, marketing, revenue generation, and program development teams, as we work to realize our bold new Strategic Plan, From Caring Comes Courage (2021-2024). Alison and the Public Engagement team will be responsible for scaling CARE Canada’s reach and impact across Canada, ensuring we fulfill our commitment to unlock women’s leadership for a more equal world.

“The Board and staff of CARE Canada are thrilled to welcome Alison to the team. Her strong expertise in public affairs and proven experience in managing diverse portfolios spanning the private and public sectors are essential assets for the next trajectory of our growth,” says Barbara Grantham, CARE Canada President and CEO. “Our new Strategic Plan challenges us to reimagine how we achieve our mission, inspire Canadian investment in that mission, and transform our organization to be future ready. We are bringing a transformational, experienced leader to join us in the realization of that new vision and Strategy.”

Alison brings to CARE significant experience in leading large teams focused on Public Engagement, most recently at Universities Canada in the role of VP, Member and Public Relations. Prior to this, Alison held executive level positions with the Egg Farmers of Canada, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and the Hotel Association of Canada, amongst others. With a career that has spanned the public, private, and NGO sectors, and a passion for making citizens and communities better places for all, Alison brings deep experience in government relations, communications, marketing, and revenue generation.

“It is an incredible opportunity to be joining CARE Canada at this important time in the organization’s transformation and in the face of unprecedented global crises,” says Alison. “CARE’s focus on putting women and girls at the centre as it works to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice resonates deeply for me. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated and talented team as we inspire Canadians to take action in support of CARE’s mission.”
