CARE Canada statement: CARE Canada Welcomes Cameron Becker as Director of Philanthropy

OTTAWA, 6 JANUARY 2022 – CARE Canada is delighted to announce the appointment of Cameron Becker as Director of Philanthropy. Cameron will lead philanthropic activities for CARE Canada effective 17 January 2022.

Cameron joins CARE Canada with over 13 years of experience leading fundraising for high impact international development and emergency humanitarian aid organizations operating globally.

Most recently, Cameron served as Head of Strategic Partnerships with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF, also known in English as Doctors Without Borders) where he developed a team of Major Gifts Fundraisers and led its Major Gifts program through a period of considerable growth, raising over $17m in 2020. Cameron also managed a portfolio of MSF’s highest-value Major Gift Donors and Prospects and led the management of the entire Major Gifts process, from identifying top-priority donors and prospects to completing research and strategizing approaches. Prior to this, Cameron held roles with MSF Mexico, War Child Canada, and Public Outreach.

As Director of Philanthropy, Cameron and the Philanthropy team will play a leading role in strengthening and diversifying CARE’s philanthropic efforts across Canada while developing and executing new long-term strategic priorities to ensure we achieve our commitment to unlock women’s leadership for a more equal world.
