According to the new UN OCHA Global Humanitarian Overview 2022 sees a 17% increase in global humanitarian needs from 2021, with 274 million people in need of life-saving aid around the world and US$41 billion needed to provide this aid. In just 4 years financial requirements and the number of people in need have doubled, while 45 million people are on the brink of famine.
How one farmer is rebuilding after losing everything
Rosemarie lost everything when Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines in 2013. Since then (and with a little hlep from CARE!), she has rebuilt her life, earning enough money to send her children to school and is now hopeful for the future.
