According to the new UN OCHA Global Humanitarian Overview 2022 sees a 17% increase in global humanitarian needs from 2021, with 274 million people in need of life-saving aid around the world and US$41 billion needed to provide this aid. In just 4 years financial requirements and the number of people in need have doubled, while 45 million people are on the brink of famine.
