"The past months of our global fight against COVID have laid bare not only the persistence of inequality, but the importance of women and girls in leading the way in global recovery," said Thomas.

"We look forward to doing our part to ensure that women and girls around the world are heard and supported in improving their own lives and those of their families."

Victor Thomas is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada-India Business Council. "CARE Canada is excited to move into this new decade of transformational global change with the leadership of Victor, Hilary and the entire board," said Barbara Grantham, CARE Canada President and CEO.

The Board extends its sincere thanks to outgoing Chair Ken Sunquist, former Canadian Ambassador to Indonesia and ADM in Foreign Affairs for Africa and Asia, who has served CARE Canada with distinction for the past 10 years, including the past five years as Chair.
