In the heart of the Jordanian desert, the camp is home to over 35,000 Syrian refugees. 60% are children and 1 in 4 households are headed by women. About 19 refugees arrive to the camp daily. The camp is classified in 4 villages, each one with a Community Center, a Health Center and a school. CARE manages all four community centers of the camp, acting as the hub organization and as a one-stop-shop that refugees visit daily for all their hanging matters and needs. Each center receives between 500-700 people each day. CARE provides recreational and psychosocial support activities, livelihood support and vocational training, cash assistance as well as referrals.
