CARE statement in reaction to UN Security Council resolution

December 22, 2023We welcome the steps taken today by the UN Security Council to pass a resolution to protect innocent civilians, scale up humanitarian aid into Gaza, and call for the immediate release of hostages. These words must translate into concrete action to save lives, address the immense suffering, and avert further disaster. The people of Gaza do not have the luxury of time – there has to be an end to the carnage through a sustained ceasefire and safe humanitarian access so that we can deliver urgently needed humanitarian assistance, at scale, to all of those in need wherever they are in Gaza.
