Update from a resident in Khartoum, Sudan on the current crisis

Sudan is in a state of violent conflict as a result of armed clashes, mainly in the capital Khartoum and in Darfur, but spreading throughout the country. Hundreds of people have been killed and thousands more have been wounded.

As is the case in crisis, women and children’s health and safety is particularly at risk.

The following narration comes from a woman living in Khartoum who shares some of the challenges that pregnant mothers are exposed to due to lack of access to medical facilities.

CARE and our partners are providing life-saving support in Sudan and neighbouring countries. Urgent action is needed to ensure that humanitarian efforts can continue as needs rapidly increase due to this new violence. Together, we can help those in Sudan and surrounding areas with life-saving support.
